MarsGen-61850

MarsGen-61850

Calibrator of digital streams

National Registry No 76741-19 (extended until 28.11.2029)

Calibration interval: 2 years

A reference digital signal source for the calibration of measurement instruments in digital substations

An optional version is available with input synchronization via the Precision Time Protocol (PTPv2).

Purpose

The calibrator MarsGen-61850 generates sampled value (SV) streams in accordance with IEC 61850-9-2 for direct calibration and testing of digital-input measurement instruments. The device provides accurate synchronization to the UTC time base and complies with stringent specifications for packet timing, stream continuity and time synchronization accuracy.

MarsGen-61850 is capable of reproducing:

voltage and current signals — including DC, AC and complex waveforms with harmonic content up to the 50th harmonic
electrical power parameters — including phase angles, power values and power quality parameters

Application

MarsGen-61850 is designed for testing and calibration of digital-input instruments that receive sampled value (SV) streams in compliance with IEC 61850-9-2, such as:

energy meters
power quality analyzers
phasor Measurement Units (PMUs)

Multifunctional reference setup MarsTest-61850

When used together with a reference instrument Energomonitor-61850 and a phantom power source Energoforma-61850, the MarsGen-61850 forms the MarsTest-61850 system. This multifunctional reference setup is designed for on-site testing and calibration of measurement channels in either conventional or digital substations.
